Teacher Appreciation Gift

Here's a great teacher appreciation made from recycled and scrap items we had around the house!!

"I'm so lucky to have BEAN in your class!"

Recycled Classico Mason spaghetti sauce jar filled with Starburst Jelly Beans (we bought in bulk on clearance after Easter to fill our gumball machine). Then, we topped it off with a fabric scrap (cut with pinking shears) and a scrap of twine.

These were wrapped in newspaper (Sunday's funnies section) and placed in recyclable brown paper gift bags.

"TEAcher" Appreciation

Here's a great, simple teacher appreciation gift. Just add a favorite drink mix or candy to a cute reusable straw cup or mug. Top it off with a bow and thank you tag.

"nICEest TEAcher"

Here's an end of the year teacher gift idea sure to please! A custom decorated beach towel.

Mrs. B loves iced tea and lounging by the pool. I hope she gets to do that a lot of that this summer with her stylish new beach towel!!

It has the lettering "nICEst TEAcher" and her name embroidered on it.

This was made using an inexpensive store bought towel, applique techniques with scrap fabric and Thermoweb Iron-on Adhesive and machine embroidery lettering using Sulky Paper Solvy.

Stay tuned for my basic sewing machine embroidery lettering tutorial and applique techniques.

Happy Sewing!!

Flower Pillow

This pillow bloomed today out of scrap fabric and left over yarn and ribbon.
My youngest daughter's bed was missing a cute decorative pillow. With nothing to do today, she helped me pick out the colors and trims from the scrap fabric bag to make this adorable pillow. We even had an extra pillow form in the craft closet making this a no cost, "free" project.
